Bumgarner Septic Tank & Grading has been assisting clients for over 60 years in Granite Falls, and surrounding areas, which would include; Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Iredell, and Lincolnton counties.
Our family owned and operated company was established in 1961; since then, we have helped hundreds of clients with routine septic tank maintenance, as well as emergency services. We have a vast range of expertise, and can help clients with a number of septic tank and septic tank-related issues.

Our History
Our family owned and operated company was established in 1961 by William “Willie” and Carolyn Bumgarner. Willie started this business as a legacy for his boys. Willie learned to grade from working with a concrete/sand company and learned to drive trucks while working with NCDOT and delivering ice cream in the mountains. Willie’s first piece of machinery was a track loader with a backhoe and a single axle dump truck and trailer. Mike and Marty grew up learning all the ends and outs of grading, hauling, and installing septic tanks. The boys worked with their dad on weekends and after school until they could do all types of jobs by themselves. After Willie became ill his oldest son, Mike took over the business and expanded it into what it is today.
Mike Bumgarner is a Level 4 Certified Point of Sale Inspector, as well as a Level 4 Certified Septic Tank Installer. Mike has added pump trucks, installing commercial tanks, and taken on larger projects brooding his areas of service to six counties. Mike takes pride in his work only wanting to complete a job to the best of his ability with the supplies that make it last.
Tanya, wife of Mike Bumgarner has worked with Mike on all aspects of the business on the administration side since 1995. She has worked in the office as the Office Manager since 2017. Customers enjoy working with her due to great customer service and follow up.
